Day 5 -June 26, 2017 - Melk Abbey, Wachau Valley, Durnstein Long day – first started taking photos about 5:40 am, last one about 10:10 pm. So several early morning images on the canal. We passed the town of picturesque town of Krems a little after 6:00am. Had to lower the wheel house part way to clear a bridge. Then breakfast. Docked in Durnstein and boarded a bus for the ride to the Melk Abbey. Beautiful grounds, buildings, amazing library and art work plus wonderful views of town and countryside. On way back to ship we made a short stop at a local winery. Back on board for lunch. After lunch we took a short walk to tour the town of Durnstein. Although short, the walk was memorable for the local nudist drying off after a dip in the canal. Interestingly enough he was in the same spot, still drying off when we walked back to the ship several hours later. Sorry –no photos. Back on ship for Apple Strudel Cooking Demonstration. Another wonderful dinner where we celebrated Dave and Pat’s Wedding Anniversary – I believe 51st. That evening the ladies of the night had the ship rocking.
